MetaFix collects only what we need to match you with a trusted professional, deliver the service and support you afterwards. We never sell your data.

1. Who we are

MetaFix is the responsible party for the personal information processed through the Platform, as defined in POPIA. You can reach our information officer at hello@metafix.co.za.

2. What we collect

Account details: name, email address, mobile number and password.
Service details: your address, suburb and city, the description and photos of the issue, and your booking preferences.
Location: your approximate location, only when you ask us to detect your suburb.
Payment details: the amount, method and status of each payment. Card data is handled by our payment provider, not stored by us.
Usage data: pages viewed, device type and error logs, used to keep the Platform working.

3. Why we use it

To match your Job with a suitable, verified Professional near you.
To let you and the Professional communicate and track progress.
To take payment, pay out Professionals and prevent fraud.
To handle disputes, refunds and support requests.
To improve estimates and matching quality across the Platform.

5. How long we keep it

Job, payment and dispute records are kept for five years to meet South African tax and consumer protection requirements. Account details are kept while your account is open and for 12 months afterwards.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

Ask what personal information we hold about you.
Ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate or no longer needed.
Object to processing, or withdraw consent where we relied on it.
Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

7. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is restricted by role, and every request is checked against row-level security rules. If a breach affects you, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
